[inspired by real life incidents]
what matters to you does not necessarily have to matter to other people, because what matters to them, may not matter to you. therefore difference in value and judgement can divide people.
many times i have been disappointed by the indifference of others, but more times i have looked back and realized my own indifference to them. it is only fair, after all, for human beings are selfish.
it is funny how humanity can be viewed very positively but also very negatively.
when we say that a person has no humanity – we mean that he/she does not sympathize or empathize. however, sometimes we say that selfishness and greed is a part of humanity – and when someone displays these qualities, we say that he/she is showing her humanity. hence, going back to a very basic point: all things have two sides.
